We have the ability to make all the brackets to replace the HEDS Encoder with a pot. If you have the type on the left, it is easy. The pot fits in the box. The shaft adapter and gear are installed plus new wiring and it is done. Centering directions are given in the manual.
For other Heds arrangements, we have solutions. The hardest is to put an Pot encoder on a feed without a previous encoder. This involves some work and drilling. But we have successfuly done it.
We have a circuit for the pol motors that have a heds encoder built in.
You need basic tools and time to do these mods. A small tap and die set, drill bits, drill motor, files and 0.050 allen key. It is also helpful to know how the feed works.
We have gone so far as to build an RC-2000 in the AIU, then used 4000 feet of fiber to operate the controller, using a duples RS-422 to fiber converter. It is now operated using BAS software from tech core.
We now have the ability to operate the controller product over ethernet using RCI's Network adapter.
